Soccer, well-known as football, is world’s most favorite spectator sport. There are no specific evidences to say where the soccer was invented. Some people are of view that soccer was first played in China while others are of the view that it was invented in Japan. But the contemporary soccer was invented in Britain and England and Scotland are conceived as co-inventor of soccer.

Soccer game is full of thrill and excitement both for players and audience. It is watched by millions of people all around the world live or on Televisions. The rules and regulation of playing soccer are simple. There are two teams each team requires 11 players-ten players play in the field and one goalkeeper.

Soccer sport is divided into two sets, each for 45 minutes long. It means time duration of soccer match is ninety minutes. The target of players in the game is throwing the ball into the goal line of the competing team.

Soccer is played in rectangular shape field. The length of the field can vary from 90m to 120m and width of the field can be in range of 45m to 90 m. A circle is spotted in middle of field and penalty area is also marked. At end of each width, a goal area is made by keeping 2 polls halfway from the corners. Goal area is covered with nets.

According to the rules of this game players have not to touch the ball with their hands and arms. The game is played under full control of referee. Referee also holds two supporter referees on contrary touchlines.

Though soccer is based in simple rules, yet players of both teams have to follow them properly otherwise they are penalized with the use of cards. A yellow card indicates a severe warning, while a red card considered as serious violation of rules by player who receives a card.
